For over 30 years the Grünewald Guild has served as a creative and innovative example to the world of the transformative power of art and the sacred within the context of community. We are an ecumenical Christian community that embraces people of all journeys and traditions, serving as a sanctuary for their exploration of art, faith and the mystery of creation.
This retreat is to encourage and support high quality, uninterrupted work time for artists, writers and musicians. it is designed with a minimum of programming or other obligations so that participatns can focus completely on their work in either a private or shared work space. No more than two artists will be assigned to any studio space. Artists can choose any number of days to attend, and can schedule to arrive/depart at any time during the two weeks as their schedules allow.
Each day will begin witha simple continental breakfast. We will serve a light sandwich lunch (or similiar) which can be eaten in the dining room or delievered directly to the studio at your request. The only regular meeting time will be at dinner each evening.
Twice during the week there will be an optional community activity in the Centrum following dinner, such as a casual time of sharing or viewing an art-related film.
