For over 30 years the Grünewald Guild has served as a creative and innovative example to the world of the transformative power of art and the sacred within the context of community. We are an ecumenical Christian community that embraces people of all journeys and traditions, serving as a sanctuary for their exploration of art, faith and the mystery of creation.
We will explore the basics of beading on fabric, whether for art quilts, jewelry, or the fabric boxes and shrines made in the Fabric Collage Class during Week 7. Students will learn about the variety of materials available to them, the most stable stitches for items that will be handled or worn, and may design a beaded medallion to be used in conjunction with Glenn Doering's jewelry class, also being offered this week. Students of all levels are welcome. Even if you have never threaded a needle before, you can quickly gain the skills you need.
