For over 30 years the Grünewald Guild has served as a creative and innovative example to the world of the transformative power of art and the sacred within the context of community. We are an ecumenical Christian community that embraces people of all journeys and traditions, serving as a sanctuary for their exploration of art, faith and the mystery of creation.

Guild Happenings - January 2012

"There is nothing in the world more beautiful than the forest clothed to its very hollows in snow.  It is the still ecstasy of nature, wherein every spray, every blade of grass, every spire of reed, every intricacy of twig, is clad with radiance."

-William Sharp

Discount Weekend Retreat

January 13-16

Are you looking looking for a few days to get away and recharge, perhaps spend some time in thought and personal reflection...or just a chance to get outside and ski through snow woods and along crisp trails?  We want to help make that happen, and to do so we are offering a discounted retreat on Martin Luther King, Jr. Weekend that is 20% less than our normal rates.  The retreat will begin with dinner on Friday and end after breakfast on Monday.  The weekend has an open schedule and structure, allowing you complete freedom for how you would like to spend your time here.  To reserve your spot, visit the retreat page on our website or give us a call at the office.

Student Discount

We know funds can be tight for students in college, seminary or grad school.  We also know how important retreats and creative offerings can be during that season of life.  In order to make it more affordable for current students to be able to visit the Guild and participate in our retreats and classes, we are now offering a student discount for lodging ($30/night) upon proof of current student status.

Pre-Colombian Pottery

Find inspiration in the rich history of ceramics in the Americas!  Scott Dillman and Sarah Jane Gray team up to explore the historical forms, techniques and firing processes of pre-Columbian pottery.  Students will experiment with a variety of traditional processes for constructing both functional pottery and sculptural forms.  This class will emphasize the development of a personal aesthetic through expressive use of form, texture, surface treatment and more.  To register or for more information, visit the class page on our website
