For over 30 years the Grünewald Guild has served as a creative and innovative example to the world of the transformative power of art and the sacred within the context of community. We are an ecumenical Christian community that embraces people of all journeys and traditions, serving as a sanctuary for their exploration of art, faith and the mystery of creation.

In-Residence Opportunities

We are open to folks coming to do work/study throughout the year as well. Artists-in-residence can trade retreat and studio time with teaching or helping us with operations. People who want to come and work and be a part of our community can contribute in many creative ways, such as gardening, housekeeping or maintenance.

Age Limitation: Volunteer staff must be 18 years of age or older.

Commitment: During your stay at the Guild, your commitment is to serving the needs of the community that is comprised of staff and guests.

Work/Study Option: Work involves assisting core staff in maintaining the physical campus (housekeeping, maintenance, kitchen duties, etc.) for 4-5 hours per day in order to cover expenses of room and board.  According to what is scheduled, our distinguished art programming may provide an opportunity for a work/study arrangement.

Housing: Housing is dependent upon the ever-changing community and will be arranged by the Staff Coordinator.

For general information about what to expect during your term of service at the guild, feel free to contact us.
