For over 30 years the Grünewald Guild has served as a creative and innovative example to the world of the transformative power of art and the sacred within the context of community. We are an ecumenical Christian community that embraces people of all journeys and traditions, serving as a sanctuary for their exploration of art, faith and the mystery of creation.
Meals are important community times at the Guild. Everyone eats meals together: guests, staff and faculty. This is a wonderful time to connect and get to know one another.
Our chef Nathan prepares wonderful meals for the various events here at the Guild, as well as group retreats and guests. He works hard to use as much local, fresh, and seasonally available ingredients as possible and everything is made from
scratch. We are pretty confident in saying that the food served here at the Guild is not your average retreat center food.
Our kitchen staff is conscientious about accommodating dietary needs (vegetarian, dairy-free, etc.). If you do have any dietary restrictions or food allergies that may affect our planning and preparation, please let us know.
Beside our Centrum building is a large organic vegetable and flower garden, the products of which we try to incorporate into our meals as much as is seasonally possible.
